Happy 2nd Birthday, CrunchyTales
What a year! There is no denying that 2020 has been one that none of us could have predicted. However, amid the chaos and confusion we have witnessed a growth and today we are celebrating another amazing birthday.
Yes, CrunchyTales turns two years ‘young’ and keeps redefining midlife, one illustrated story at a time. And like perennials, we continue to learn, adapting, evolving and thriving. ‘Crunching’ our numbers this year, we have been overwhelmed by the results, responses, reviews, and love our readers have shown us. More than 200 insights a year, exclusive interviews and in-depth features, live debates and fresh views on midlife, over 98,000 page views, 67,000 unique users, 4000 followers on Facebook.
We have never felt more connected to you than during this most challenging of years. Thanks to our exciting online conversations, we’ve had the opportunity to forge new links, meeting incredible women with a Crunchy Factor around the world. Amongst them Jo Moseley, Nikki Love, Monica Bevacqua, Makeda Smith, Rosi Viljoen, Elissa Bloom, Lesley Salem who made our journey brighter than ever.
Thanks to the never-ending support of amazing professionals, we were able to launch an ambitious project: providing our readers with the help and advice of a team of advisors, The Crunchy Board Of Experts, specially selected for their particular vision and for their continuous effort to empower middle-aged women.
In order to challenge those outdated beliefs, encouraging us all to re-think the negative stories we tell ourselves and each other about growing older, we also teamed up with the University of Chester. Accepting the invitation of Prof Emma Rees (Director University of Chester’s Institute of Gender Studies) and being part of the Diversity Festival gave CrunchyTales a chance to cast a light on the way women from different backgrounds experience midlife challenges and transition.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our fans who have continued to inspire us along this year with their stories of midlife reawakening and our Crunchy ambassadors (Cristiana, Pam, Brigi, Adri) who with their enthusiasm are helping us redefine the meaning of middle age encouraging our Community to live to the fullest with their brilliant ideas, comments and insights.
Last, but not least, a huge thanks to the TEDx speaker and author, Amy Schmidt, podcaster hosts Colleen Rosenblum and Bridgett Garratt, erotica writer Stella Fosse who were the first ones to open the doors of the American market to us, helping CrunchyTales appreciate and learn more about such a terrific audience of midlife women across the ocean. We are proud to call you our friends.
Most of all, this year we have discovered that growing ‘crunchy’ means making mistakes, learning and developing. Growing ‘crunchy’ means defying expectations. So let’s raise the bar, let’s turn the table upside-down and embrace our journey thinking the best is yet to come. We are determined to show everyone that having the time our life has nothing to do with our age but with our attitude. Anyone should worry about getting older – it’s just a number. Be wise, age playfully!
